Glickman Residence
Bend, Oregon
This custom home is planned for the exclusive Shevlin Commons neighborhood in Bend, Oregon, a unique planned community emphasizing low-impact integration of homes within an ecologically sensitive site. Strict design guidelines restrict height and building massing, as well as overall design and materials.
The design of the home results from the clients' desire for a modern home which adheres to and respects the vernacular forms and natural materials required by the design guidelines. The 1 ½ story home is organized around an entry courtyard. Primary interior and exterior living spaces are oriented to take advantage of multiple mountain views. Soaring ceilings and walls of glass contrast with exterior materials of metal, natural wood, and native stone.
